NEW 23 April 2023: I am building the 5 track carbarn that is on the right side of the diagram above. Look for a separate page talking about the carbarn construction.
NEW 14 July 2019: I am adding the Automatic Train Stop circuits to the Torresdale Branch. When watching the cams, if you see the lights on and me wandering around and under the layout, I am installing the relays and wiring. This will take a few weeks. Sometimes I will run a car or two while I am working just to keep the rail and wire clean.
Above is a diagram of the "City and Interurban" Division of the Mayfair Electric. It is built out of modules using the East Penn interface. All the colored modules are built and operational. This layout became operational on 8 June 2019 and was operated at the 15 June 2019 general meeting of the East Penn Traction Club. The modules forming the route from the Mayfair Loop to the Tacony Loop through the Derr Junction are equipped with a variant of the East Penn Automatic Train Control Relay System that automatically stops trolleys when the block ahead is occupied. The branch to the Torresdale Loop is not ATC equipped yet except for the incoming block to the Mayfair loop to protect against "T-boning" cars using the cutback loop. At this point the layout can comfortably operate 5 to 6 trolleys simultaneously.
